A website of my very own

Now that I’ve been doing this whole freelance graphic design thing for a couple of years, I finally got around to putting up my own website. I know, what took me so long?

I find it very difficult to design for myself. There are just so many styles and so many options, what’s a girl to do. Designing a new logo for myself over a year ago helped get the ball rolling…slowly rolling. My workload has slowed down over the past couple of weeks allowing me to finally knock this baby out and get it online. So here it is, a website of my very own:

My very own Etsy shop

I know I’ve mentioned my love for Etsy a time or two by now. And finally, I am officially part of the Etsy community. I just set up my very own Etsy shop. There isn’t much to it yet, but I plan to add more very soon. Of course, I came up with this idea over a year ago, and am just now getting around to it, so “soon” is being used very loosely here :)

Until we bought this house, I never stayed in one apartment or rental for very long. So I was always coming up with ideas for wall art that were inexpensive, but still added some color or visual interest to a room. Add that to the frustration of having to tear apart a puzzle that took you forever to complete (because I’m definitely not framing it), and voila! You get a painted puzzle to hang on your wall.

I am also planning to add revamped furniture items. Notice I didn’t say “soon” this time.

An “I Do” To-Do

On May 5, 2007, almost 4 years ago, Alex and I became man and wife. It was an evening filled with family, friends, Mexican food, margaritas and piñatas (it was Cinco de Mayo, after all). Definitely a night to remember!

But, as I said, it has been almost 4 years now. And, well, our wedding album, the keeper of all these great memories…doesn’t exist. I have yet to put it together. I KNOW! What’s wrong with me?

Not that it’s an excuse for me not having these photos organized, but just 1.5 months after getting hitched, we moved from Texas to Virginia. We lived in a hotel for a couple of weeks before settling into a rental house and, well, somehow the wedding photos were put into a box and then life just got in the way.

But enough of the excuses. I’m ready to finally take care of it.

I have the album. I have the photos. And I’ve run out of excuses. Check back soon (maybe not too soon) to see the finished results. Maybe it will make a nice 4th Anniversary present for Alex :)

Please, tell me I’m not the only one guilty of this type of procrastination. Can someone else relate?
